Born and raised non-Mormon in Salt Lake City, my art career began with clandestine crayon scribblings on my parents’ freshly painted walls. After getting a degree in Painting and Drawing from the University of Utah, I next became a graduate student at Rhode Island School of Design. Since earning my Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking from RISD, my art has been seen in diverse venues including ArtPrize, The Galleries at Cleveland State University, PIEROGI Gallery Brooklyn's Flat Files, Ingenuity Fest, and the Erie Art Museum.
My work is about the human condition. Headbutting the hard fact of mortality cries out for playfulness. So my experimental approach contrasts comedy with disquiet. Methods and materials range from performance art to drawing with charcoal. I challenge myself to master processes that best express my obsession with life, death and all things glittery.
